About the Event

Please read all event information before attending:

Event Information:

We will run the traditional Pen Y Fan horseshoe route. It will summit Fan Y Big, Cribyn, Pen Y Fan and Corn Du. Runners must leave Bristol at 06.00-06.30 to meet at 08.00 at the Taf Fechen Forest Car Park. To take part in this event you should be fit for running hills and should be able to run 20km on mountainous terrain comfortably.

Approximate Distance: 20km

Approximate Elevation: 1100m

Expected Terrain: Sheep trails, rocky paths, lots of ascent and descent

Run Leaders: Joe Wenman & Jason Dickson

Entry Requirements: This is a tough run requiuring participants to have reasonable fell running experience

Essential Kit:

All kit on this list is essential, regardless of the weather or your exerience level. We will be completing kit spot checks for safety.

  • Trail running shoes
  • Head torch with spare batteries
  • Waterproof jacket with taped seams
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather
  • Minimum 1000ml of water
  • Some form of sodium in food or drink
  • Minimum 400kcal of food
  • Fully charged mobile phone
  • Survival bag or foil blanket
  • Gloves and warm hat or buff
  • Spare, warm change of clothes in the car
  • Towel in the car
  • Spare food and drink in the car
  • Hand sanatizer and face mask

Recommended Extra Kit:

  • First Aid Kit
  • Map and compass
